About the Lighthouse Festival

The Lighthouse Festival is a celebration of the lifestyle, culture, and opportunity of the Bundaberg region. The festival is based in Burnett Heads, gateway to the southern Great Barrier Reef, with the town’s historic lighthouse forming a symbolic centre-piece for the fun and entertainment. The Lighthouse Festival seeks to highlight some our great Bundaberg region talent and businesses as well as give locals the chance to experience some things they may not otherwise get the chance to do. Above all, we want to provide a great day out at a reasonable cost.

The Lighthouse Festival is currently accepting vendor applications for the 2019 festival.  Clothing, Crafts, Food Vendors and Organizations looking to promote themselves to the community are all welcome. Have an idea?  Let us know!

Local Performers

Live Performances are what the Lighthouse Festival has become known for.  Bands, Solo Artists, Dance Groups and more have delighted our crowds and the Festival would not happen without them.  Would you like to participate in this year’s event?

Are you part of an Organization or Community Group?  Would you like to run a display?  Past displays include woodworking, dance, drumming and more.  Register your interest in sharing your passion today!

Volunteers are the heart and soul of the Lighthouse festival.  Without the gracious donation of time from our great volunteers, our event would not be possible.  Interested in helping out?  We would love to have you on board.

The Lighthouse Festival

'Conversation Location'Most people who follow my page , know that this year I am on The Lighthouse Festival committee, i am creating an inclusive festival so all members of the public can enjoy the day.
My next idea is Inspired by the school playgrounds "Buddy Seat" the Lighthouse Festival will have a seat called " Up for a conversation, new to this location " This seat will indicate to people passing by that you are open having a conversation.
The seat can be an icebreaker or just remind others to stop and have a conversation with the elderly person next door or ask a mate are you
OK .
A kind word can make a difference to those who need it the most.
My name is Summer Farrelly , I am 12 years old, I want to create acceptance within my community, i hope to see you at the festival ❤Summer

The Lighthouse Festival

I live in a family all on the autism spectrum. Accessing and attending community events as a family is challanging, we each have our own individual challenges to manage and self regulate.
Having these challenges as an individual and as a family has given me insight.
Over the last 3 years I have been involved in running a companion chicken program, I have met many amazing indivduals with a range of physical and learning challenges.
I decided this year to implement inclusion stratigies at a local event so families and friends can come together and enjoy themselves and create memories.
I have used my own ideas and money from art sales to provide sensory bags , industrial noise cancelling ear muffs for fire works, a fully inclusive toileting facility, borrowed Eyes (vision assistance), I have many more ideas to roll out over the next few months.
My name is Sumner I am 12 years old , i want Everyone in my community to feel valued, accepted and to feel amazing at this year's The Lighthouse Festival
❤ Summer
